Biography:

Glenis Wilson

 

Born in Radcliffe on Trent, Nottinghamshire, I was always a scribbler from childhood. I have been a member of Nottingham Writers' Club for 35 years, and am also a member of both the Romantic Novelists' Association, and the Crime Writers' Association.

My writing credits are: Articles, including several in 'The Lady' magazine, and thirteen published short stories.

I have fourteen published novels which are also available in Large Print.

I have won a number of NWC internal competitions; my first novel 'Blood on the Turf'- published in 1989 - won the 1988 Gladys Bungay Rose Bowl Award for a novel.

My second novel 'Photo Finish' which went on to be published collected the Writer of the Year award in 1992.

In 2000 I collected four annual NWC competition awards; following this with further Gladys Bungay novel awards in 2001, 2007, 2009 and 2011 for 'The Honey Tree', 'Angel Harvest', 'Dead Certainty' and 'So Wrong-So Right' respectively. All four novels are now published.

In November 2011 I received an award from Nottingham Writers Club for the 'Manuscript of the Year'. This was for a twist ending, cameo short story of 250 words entitled 'A Display of Delphiniums'. In November 2012 again won the 'Manuscript of the year' award with my cameo short story 'Freedom'.

My book entitled 'Vendetta' was published in February 2012.

The Novel 'Dead on Course' , sequel to 'Dead Certainty', won the Gwladys Bungay Silver Rose Bowl Award in 2013.

NWC Ena Young Award for Prose 2014.

Received the Writer of the Year Award 2014.

Won NWC 'Manuscript of the Year 2015'

'Dead Reckoning', 3rd in the 'Harry Radcliffe' novels won the Gwladys Bungay Silver Rose Bowl Award 2015.
